Forest Restoration with Kissena Synergy 03.21.2026

On Saturday, March 26, the LFCDC Youth team teamed up with Kissena Synergy to learn more about their forest restoration efforts in Kissena Park.

After getting an introduction, we got to work and started removing the invasive plants called the Japanese knotweed. Our GOAT and LFCDC Youth Council members had a lot of fun removing root balls and knotweed stems!

We’re so grateful for organizations like Kissena Park that welcome and teach volunteer teams like us about the importance of protecting our environment. Until next time!
